Leave it to Maureen Dowd and the New York Times to turn Jim Wilson’s “You lie!” outburst into a racial epithet. This is the most sycophantic, fantastical drivel I’ve ever read. Just quoting pieces of it does not demonstrate how revolting Maureen Dowd is.

These tactics are tired and beyond the pale. Somehow you can’t disagree with the President without being a racist. This is how liberals try to silence dissent with name calling and political correctness. As far as I am concerned Obama did lie during his speech about many things. You can’t say 47 million people are uninsured without including 9.2 million illegal aliens. You can’t say that the health care plan will not cover illegal aliens if there are no provisions to identify and prevent such a thing from happening. Other lies?
Promising to work with Republicans when he has not met with Republicans on Health care since April and Pelosi and Reid have blocked any debate on Republican provisions.
Promising tort reform. I am 100% sure this is a lie since trial lawyers bankrolled his campaign. If he actually does this I will give him credit, but I’m not holding my breath.
Promising to not add 1 dime to the deficit. I can’t believe some people actually believe this. This is clearly impossible. With the current budget, we can’t pay for one more thing without further increasing the suffocating deficit and debt.
How does pointing this out make anyone racist? Sure it may be inappropriate to boo or shout at a President during a Congressional address, but Maureen Dowd has just taken this too far and people actually pay her a lot of money to write this crap.
Karate started on Monday so I called the school and asked them to arrange for my daughter to be escorted to the karate class after school. The office was not even aware there was a class but asked me to fax a form saying it was ok to go to karate. Then I get an email from the school to all parents saying that the parents must be present for the entire class that day and gave a phone number for more information so of course I called it. They explained to me that my daughter must be enrolled in the after school care program (at a cost of $25 of course) in order to be allowed to attend karate. Apparently this is so they can keep track of who is allowed to stay after school. They said the parents had to attend the class since a representative of the after school program would be there to provide a registration form and collect the money. My wife attended the class and called me handing the phone to the after school coordinator who assured me that if we filled out the form, my daughter would be enrolled by the Friday class. My wife also told Gabi’s teacher that every Monday and every Friday Gabi should not get on the bus, but instead go to Karate.
Well today is Friday. We get a call at 2:45 on my wife’s cell phone from the front office of the school saying that they do not have a registration form for my daughter for after-school care. I explained that we had already filled it out on Monday so of course they claimed no responsibility for that and I got transferred to the after school care program. The after school program said the person in charge was not there and they needed a few minutes to research it so I called the office back to find out what they were doing with my daughter. Then they told me they put her on the bus. Boy was I mad. You can’t put a five year old girl on a bus if you’re not sure someone is at the other end to pick her up. They gave us 30 minutes notice that my daughter was not going to the after school program but instead was going home. What if we were more than 30 minutes from home? What if there was traffic? Sure we were home, but “what if”? I don’t think these people are allowed to think without having the proper form filled out. Fortunately her teacher came to her senses and got her off the bus but clearly did not like hearing what I had to say when she called to tell us.
In August of 2006, I wrote a post about how I was not allowed to bring a McDonald’s Happy Meal into the school when I went to have lunch with my son that day. To make a long story short, they told me that even though the school had determined what my child is allowed to eat, I should go eat the food in the cafeteria because they were serving cheeseburgers that day. DOH! *head slap*
Well, history is repeating itself. This time I was better prepared. My daughter started kindergarten yesterday. When she came home she told her mother that she had nothing to drink for lunch and was only allowed to have milk for lunch, not juice or water. Gabi does not like cold milk, only hot milk. My wife asked me to call the school and find out the story.
The school explained to me that they are bound by Alabama state law and must serve milk to the children and cannot substitute anything unless they have a doctor’s note saying they are allergic to milk. This is insane. They won’t even allow her to have water! How can you deny someone water?
Well this time I didn’t fly off the handle about government intrusion and food police. I would really prefer that my daughter learn to drink cold milk since it is good for her, and despite my objections to this abuse of power, I will let it go this time. I haven’t decided whether we will just let her bring water to school or ask her to drink the milk.
Strangely and almost predictably, right after Nancy Pelosi declared that the Health Care Town Hall protesters were carrying swastikas, Nazi signs started showing up all over the liberal news such as a picture of Obama with a Hitler mustache. Conservatives were confused by her statement because despite the radical left’s attempts to portray us as racist nazis, we are anything but that and we never saw or heard anything like that at the Tea Parties. In general we are well behaved professional adults who would not stoop so low. We are the party of freedom and true equality. We smelled a conspiracy, a setup. However, the media jumped all over these images sent in by “citizen journalists” and as usual were completely irresponsible in their reporting and did not investigate any of this strange coincidence. Pelosi says it, then it happens. The Blog Prof has an OUTSTANDING expose showing how supporters of a single payer system are behind these images. Watch the videos and you will feel vindicated and disgusted at the same time. Well done.
President Obama had a “Town Hall” today in NH about Health Care. It was clearly rigged as there were standing ovations and chants of “Yes we can”. He fielded a question from a 12 year old girl who wanted to know why all those people outside had such “mean things” on their signs.
Then this happened..
A person asked how private companies can compete with the Government without going out of business?
Obama: “FedEx and UPS are doing just fine. It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems”.
Ooops! He knew he screwed up as soon as he said it.
Do you remember how bent out of shape the Democrats were prior to the last election whenever their patriotism was questioned? They declared loudly how it was their patriotic duty to challenge the President’s policies. Well well well. Look at how times have changed. In today’s USA Today Op-Ed by Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, they accuse anyone speaking out against Universal Health Care as being “un-American.” In fact that’s the title of their article, “Un-American Attacks Can’t Derail Health Care Debate”.
As some of you may know, my son is playing the drums this year in Middle School. I was told that we had to go to a specific “approved” music store to buy an “approved” instrument. Since school starts next week I went to pick up his drum today. Only it wasn’t a drum. It was a drum kit that consisted of a tiny xylophone, a drum practice PAD, and a bunch of sticks and mallets all for $433.00. Again, there is no drum in the $433 drum kit. I should have put him in chorus.
I hope this music program is getting one hell of a kickback.
