Thank you President Bush

I know it’s fashionable to derangely hate President Bush, but I can appreciate the things that President Bush did right.  He was right on the war on terror.  I say thanks for no attacks since 9/11 and I give him the credit in the world for it.  I say thanks for going after the terrorists without regard for world opinion. That was indeed the right strategy.    I still feel he was right to go into Iraq and that history will be able to justify his success there.  George Bush has been by far the best friend Africa has had with all the aid he has sent them.  President Bush indeed led by his convictions and not by public opinion.  Whether or not you agree with those decisions, that is how a President should lead.    So thanks again and enjoy your retirement.  Let’s hope Obama can continue to keep us safe.

  1. I think that looking back, history will be much more kind to President Bush than the mainstream media was.  Considering how much worse the Clinton administration was before him, my own theory is that the press is just finding a way to put Bush morally on the same level as Clinton somehow.  They won’t succeed.

  2. People knew when they voted for Bush that there was no chance that they would see any repeat of the Clinton indiscretions. It’s sad when a good man with good intentions is turned into such a villain.  Sadly the press actually pines for the Clinton years thinking he was a responsible for the economic good times.   I personally think Gingrich should get the credit instead.  Despite Clinton being morally bankrupt, I do give him credit for balancing the budget and reforming welfare though.

Bush’s legacy will be the war on terror and the democracy in the Middle East.  History will also discover he had little to do with the economic downturn and since economies eventually will rebound, that will not be as big an issue historically as it is now.
