Who will be the VP?

Word is that John McCain has made his VP selection. All I can say is it better be Mitt Romney. I don’t think you’ll find a smarter and more loyal VP than Mitt. He was a great conservative candidate and ran a great campaign. No one will fight harder for McCain.  He should be the President after McCain’s term. I will be VERY disappointed if McCain makes a “safe” pick of Pawlenty. Pawlenty doesn’t seem to have that “something special” about him. Just like Clinton supporters, I will have a hard time getting over my disappointment of him not selecting Romney.

Other VP’s I could live with (but will stiill be disappointed): Giuliani, Huckabee, Lieberman. I know Giuliani and Lieberman are pro-choice, but Giuliani will pick strict constructionist judges and I trust all of them with our national security. Lieberman would be exceptionally strong here. The biggest problem with Lieberman is that you won’t be setting up a candidate for the future. I think he would be a good Secretary of State.

  1. I think McCain should pick Mitt. Then in four years it would be Mitt and Sarah, you are right, a dream ticket.

  2. Personally, I’d like to see McCain make the surprise choice of Alaska’s governor, Sarah Palin, but I’m not predicting that he will.

  3. Fox News is reporting it looks like Palin.  Drudge has announced it’s Palin.   Romney, Pawlenty, and Huckabee are confirmed out.  I think it’s a done deal.

  4. It just seems to make so much sense that it has to be her.

  5. Scott,
You really stay on top of the issues. McCain is doing a fantastic job. I’m willing to bet he picked Sarah Palin, (even though ABC News has a poor report saying she is still in Alaska).

  6. I’m really fired up about this pick.   I bet the major networks are pretty worried and upset now.   That’s why I watch Fox News.   I can’t wait to see what the NYT does for a hatchet job on Palin.

  7. I got my wish. I’ve had my eye on Governor Palin as a possible VP choice for some time now and I’ve said that if McCain is smart he would choose her, but I doubted that he would.
