In the Men’s 4 x 100 M freestyle relay, the United States destroyed the World Record and defeated the favored France by just a blink of an eye. They broke the record they had set just one day earlier. So in the past two days, they took the World Record from 3:12.46 to 3:12.23 to an astonishing 3:08:24. The 100 M Freestyle World Record Holder Alain Bernard from France declared before the race, “The Americans? We’re going to smash them. That’s what we came here for.” Hah! Au contraire! Jason Lezak swam the fastest relay split in history to catch and beat Bernard right at the end. France had a 1/2 second lead going in to the last leg with the World Record holder Bernard going last. Choke! Actually by the time Bernard swam he had actually already lost his World Record to Eamon Sullivan of Australia during the first leg of the race. Ha Ha! You suck! That will teach you to trash talk the U.S. France, don’t you realize that you will never win anything? Ok, I’ll give you the World Cup a few years ago, but really besides that what else have you won? Actually I have more respect now for France since they elected a decent pro-American President Nicolas Sarkozy. But come on, France pretty much deserves to be picked on.
Congratulations, Michael Phelps (2 golds and counting), Garrett Weber-Gale, Cullen Jones, and Jason Lezak!
USA! USA!
