Back again

Once again, I was away on vacation visiting my family in NH last week. My wife and kids are in NJ visiting my in-laws so I am single this week. Ahhhhhhh peace and quiet. Sometimes it’s nice to have the entire place to myself.

We took a tour of Fenway Park. I got to sit in the Green Monster seats. Pretty cool! Enjoy the pictures. Click to enlarge.

  1. Welcome back!  Great pics, too.  Enjoy your peace and quiet (but I bet it won’t be long before things are too peaceful and too quiet!)

  2. Scott,
Great info on the O-D Camp - and all unfortunately true.  My son finishes the Baltimore Camp tomorrow and this is truly the most disorganized O-D effort yet.  There’s a clear reason the attendance is waning!  We’ve been to 6-other O-D Camps and the past few years the coaching talent has declined, the number of Pro’s in attendance has dropped to near nothing (even though Willis McGahee attended today, he’s such a pompus ass, he’s a nothing) and the program has become a O-D Bowl prep camp for those with skills already. The coaches can’t teach, so they work with the kids that don’t need much teaching.  Don’t bother trying to pass your concerns to the head office - “they have total confidence in Coach Solomon, he’s been with us for years…so it must be your problem…”   I would highly encourage anyone considering an O-D Camp to consider another venue.

  3. Hi Julie,   Sorry I’ve been away from reading your blog but a vacation is a vacation after all.

  4. Scott, as a rabid Red Sox fan, I wonder if you are aware that Tom Yawkey owned a bunch of land in the Georgetown, SC area, and also a “house of ill repute” known as Sunset Lodge which was located (before the day of Interstate highways) right on the main north-south highway along the Atlantic coastline. Today it is known as US17 but back then I think it may have been called US1.

  5. Scott, I’m glad you got to take a well deserved vacation with your family.  I did miss you but more than that I envy you!   And you didn’t miss much regarding my blog.  It’s pretty much like a Soap Opera, you can skip a week and you really don’t miss a thing!  :)

  7. Linda, Hon, you give me more credit than I am due. I only went to Sunset Lodge as a driver for an Air Force buddy at Charleston AFB who had a serious case of the hots. I waited on him in the lounge downstairs and enjoyed Scotch on the rocks on the house. The stud was our designated driver back to the base.

Believe it or not, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.  J
