Welcome Hillary Clinton Supporters

As a John McCain supporter, I would like to welcome all Hillary Clinton voters to the campaign who have been slighted and offended by Barack Obama.  I applaud your ability to see that the country needs experienced leadership over flowery rhetoric.   You are to be commended that you believe that terrorism needs to be fought, not befriended, and that Israel needs a steadfast friend, not a someone who is endorsed by Hamas.

Welcome.

  1. I told you McCain is going to pick her as his VP, right? Yeah.

  2. McCain needs all the help he can get because a lot of conservatives don’t think he’s one of them so they say they are either not voting in November, or will vote for some minor party candidate who has conservative credentials.

  3. Yes Carol, I was nervous about that until it was announced last night that she says she’ll give her support to Obama on Saturday.  I keep thinking about who would help McCain win, not necessarily who I want for VP.  I feel a lot of Clinton supporters probably like McCain and would vote for him if he had a (D) next to his name.   However, would conservatives just stay home like Don says or does Obama scare people enough to vote for McCain/Clinton?  I’d have to say unless a 3rd party candidate became viable like say a Newt Gingrich, I’d probably have to vote for McCain/Clinton.   I feel like I have no choice.  The alternative is unacceptable.  She was after all the most conservative Dem candidate out there this year.  I also do not believe she would really bring the troops home.  I think she just says that to get elected.   I think she would be relieved to assume McCain’s position on the war as VP and he would never let her nationalize health care.  My personal pick is Romney of course.  Too bad there are so many religious bigots out there.

If I could advise McCain on whom he should choose for a running mate I’d strongly advise that he pick Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. Not only does he have conservative credentials which might bring many disgruntled conservatives back into McCain’s tent, but he has other factors in his favor. He has youth. He is an American born to parents who migrated legally to America and have made contributions to our society. He has an extensive list of accomplishments at an early age that would, in many voter’s judgment, qualify him to occupy the Oval Office in the event it became necessary.

Check out Piyush “Bobby” Jindal for yourself.

  5. I like what I’ve heard from Jindal so far.  He’s a rising star and I’m not sure it makes sense for him to leave Louisiana.   If McCain loses with him on the ticket, then he may have tarnished his record very early on.

  6. Carol’s still stirring it up I see :)
Here is Thomas Sowell’s bottom line on the election:
At a time like this, we do not have the luxury of waiting for our ideal candidate or of indulging our emotions by voting for some third-party candidate to show our displeasure — at the cost of putting someone in the White House who is not up to the job.

Sen. John McCain has been criticized in this column many times. But, when all is said and done, Sen. McCain has not spent decades aiding and abetting people who hate America.

On the contrary, he has paid a huge price for resisting our enemies, even when they held him prisoner and tortured him. The choice between him and Barack Obama should be a no-brainer.

    Not according to Hammas…

“Hamas does not differentiate between the two presidential candidates, Obama and Mccain, because their policies regarding the Arab-Israel conflict are the same and are hostile to us, therefore we do have no preference and are not wishing for either of them to win,” – Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri

  8. Silke, Ahmed Yousef the top political adviser for Hamas endorsed Obama on WABC radio in April.

“We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections,” Yousuf said. “I do believe [Obama] is like John Kennedy, a great man with a great principle. And he has a vision to change America, to [put] it in a position to lead the world community, but not with humiliation and arrogance.”

Then, last week, Hamas “unendorsed” Obama after he gave a speech to the AIPAC pro-Israel lobby.  Personally I think they realized they had harmed their favorite candidate and are trying to do him a favor.
