I’m not sure what Jindal’s understanding of economics is, and what, if anything, in his public record would cast a light on that.

From what I’ve read about Romney, and what I heard him say in the TV debates while he was still a candidate, he seems to me to be just another politician who thinks we can spend our way out of our problems. Actually, spending fiat money that is not worth the paper it’s printed on has bankrupted the USA, damaged our economy, made our paper dollars less valued throughout the rest of the world and is financially hurting every American today.

There are very few people in Congress and other public offices who have an understanding of how economics works and how central it is to our well-being. President Bush surely doesn’t. Obama and McCain don’t seem to either.

I'm pretty sure Romney has a grasp on domestic and international economics. I think it would help overcome McCain's big goof saying he doesn't understand the economy. How is Jindal on the economy? He's probably the same as Romney, low tax, small government, free market capitalist.

I think there’s quite a difference between being a financial wizard in the business world and being a student of economics and knowing how economics affects our economy and the lives of all Americans.

Jindal is quite an attractive selection. I can't argue with you. I'd hate to see him fail at such a young age though. McCain is certainly not the favorite right now. I know Newt is hated among liberals, but I love him. The Contract With America was a fantastic idea. I also really like Romney, but anti-Mormon bias is hard to overcome, probably harder than being black or a woman. Nobody looks or sounds more Presidential than Romney. Plus he's a financial wizard.

I’d like to see either Gingrich or Jindal on the ticket, but I prefer Jindal for several reasons. First, he doesn’t carry the baggage that Newt does. Next, his youth and superior successes in public life would contrast sharply to that of Obama’s. Next, he is, like Obama, not just another white American male. Need I say more?
