Yazmin and Andres are U.S. Citizens!

Yesterday we took a trip to Atlanta for Yazmin’s citizenship exam. She passed with flying colors! This also made Andres a citizen automatically. We all got to participate in the Ceremony. There were several men from the armed forces there becoming citizens as well. I was glad to see them get priority in getting processed. The ceremony was nice. There were about 160 people from 60 different countries. They all swore an oath to defend our nation against all enemies foreign and domestic. Then George Bush gave a nice message welcoming them. That was followed by a video montage with Lee Greenwood’s God Bless The USA playing in the background. It was very moving. Next we all gave the pledge of allegiance. After that, they all received their official certificates declaring them United States Citizens. I am so proud of my wife and son. I know they truly appreciate what they have gained and I know I won’t let them forget.

  2. Thanks. It was really exciting for all of us. I told them if the U.S. goes to war with Colombia, they have to fight on our side now.

  3. I like the idea they’re on our side (which is now their side!) I know what a long road it was to get to this point but the beautiful smile tells me it was worth it.
