Yankees beaten, curse shirt found

The Red Sox beat the Yankees 2 out of 3 games this weekend. Not only that, Manny’s Oak Mountain Little League Cubs beat the Yankees as well 11-0. All is well with the world.

As I reported earlier this week, the super-ingenious mason Gino Castignoli planted an Ortiz shirt under the visitors locker room in concrete under the new Yankee Stadium to curse the Yankees. Unfortunately, word got out and the Yankees dug up the shirt. It’s a good thing he didn’t wrap it around a gas line.  I’m not sure the curse was working as well as planned. Yes, the Yankees lost to the Red Sox this weekend, but David Ortiz currently has the worst batting average of any major league ball player, .070. Perhaps the shirt being removed is just what Ortiz needs to get going again now that he has the weight of the entire Yankee stadium off his back.

  1. Congrats to Manny! Great picture in the post below, btw. I hope you post more and keep us up to date on the Cubs. I don’t have kids but I have a (much) younger brother and I never missed any of his games. Great fun and great memories.

All is not quite well with the world, though. Go (those other) Yankees!

  2. First Carol with the Giants and now you with the Yankees! Ack! Ok, you are going to be next in my blog wars when the playoffs start, but this time I won’t lose! Have you seen these clips about the Patriots? They’re hysterical if you don’t like the Pats. I couldn’t bring myself to post them.

  3. I will accept the challenge. (And check out your links). Dad’s been a die hard Yankees fan since forever so I came by it honest, as they say!

I just read your comment on the AI liveblog about being interviewed by AP. No one commented on it, I was going to but Hells Bells I can’t keep up on those liveblogs. Please elaborate!!!

She was writing an article about children’s graduations. I hope I don’t look too foolish. I’ll send you the link when I get it.

  5. It’s a great post, I remember reading it now. (I Googled and found it during one of the many irritating moments on AI)

I KNOW you won’t look foolish. The post was on the money. I can’t wait to read the article. Good job!
