Whether you know it or not, President Uribe of Colombia is a staunch U.S. ally. He has pushed all the narco terrorists deep into the jungles and away from the cities as was demonstrated last month when Colombia crossed into the Ecuadoran border to kill the number 2 FARC leader which caused Hugo Chavez of Venezuela to throw a temper tantrum.
President Bush wants to continue to assist the Colombian government by continuing to aid the drug war and to provide free trade agreements to help the people of Colombia. Of course this makes sense because a strong economy creates a strong government supported by the people. Of course Hillary is opposed to this for reasons I have not been able to determine yet. It seems to be an attempt to distance herself from her husband’s NAFTA treaty which she has learned during campaigning that unions do not like this agreement very much. Or maybe she took that position because Obama took that position. Of course this alienates the latin voters even more which she was depending upon to offset Obama taking the African American vote from her. Today she demoted Mark Penn who was her chief strategist because he flew to Colombia so his company could help their government promote the free trade agreement.
I would like to know why she is against free trade with our friends. She supports Most Favored Nation Status for China. She supports outsourcing jobs to India (which is one of my biggest pet peeves). The only conclusion I can come to is that she’s an idiot which of course makes Barack Obama an idiot as well since they are practically ideological clones.
