A candidate who gives a good oratory is like a girlfriend who gives good “oratory”. Sure it’s fantastic and you look forward to doing it again and again. In the beginning, when everyone is on their best behavior, that’s really all that matters. Is it enough to marry her? You might think so at first, but eventually you come to your senses when you get to know her better and you have absolutely nothing in common except you like her “oratory” skills. Did I mention that all goes away once you get married anyways?
