A friend of mine noticed that the people trying to tear down Clemens are Democrats while the ones defending him seem to be Republicans. I think the reasons for this are clear. Clemens is friendly with the Bush family, especially George the elder. Also, in a society where were we discourage any sort of achievement so that no ones feelings get hurt, this is no surprise. Democrats spend most of their effort trying to discredit the accomplishments of anyone successful in order to bring them down to the level of the average and below average citizen. Republicans would rather encourage people to attain greatness .
Democrats: Tests mean nothing. It’s not fair to deny someone a diploma. It might hurt their self esteem.
Republicans: Tests mean everything. The world is competitive and you’d better figure that out sooner rather than later.
Democrats: If you make too much money we will take it away from you and give it to others.
Republicans: You too can make that much money if you work hard enough.
Democrats: Corporations are greedy and need to be punished for too much profit.
Republicans: Corporations fuel the economy and give people jobs. Very few people can lead a successful company. They have worked hard their entire lives and deserve the profits they earn.
Democrats: Power must be stripped from Republicans at all costs. We must say and do anything to tear down the President and get elected even if it harms the country and the war effort.
Republicans: Civilized debate has more value than deranged hatred.
Democrats: The military is evil. Any war is an evil war.
Republicans: The military is the only thing protecting our freedom.
