Romney to concede

Word is Romney will concede in today’s CPAC speech.  Hopefully he cut a deal with McCain to be VP.  I was hoping for a brokered convention where he may have had some leverage.  I wonder how McCain will try to win me back.

  1. Scott, I am just sick over this. McCain and Huckabee’s little scheme paid off. The only way McCain can win me back is to pick Romney as his VP. Other than that, I don’t know what I will do in November.

I am lucky I have a busy week-end selling junk at a garage sale. It will take my mind off this.

  2. It’s very discouraging. I feel like I am voting against Hillary/Obama instead of for McCain. It’s hard to get motivated that way. I thought McCain’s speech at CPAC was pretty good today at trying to reassure conservatives. We’ll see how he behaves the rest of the way. You’re right, his VP choice will speak volumes. He’d better balance that ticket.

  3. Yes, indeed. Sickening. Julie, I wish I didn’t have a busy weekend or I’d come help you with your garage sale, and when I say “help you” I mean that I’d buy a lot! LOL

Listen, since McCain is the GOP’s nominee I’m afraid I’m going to have to do the unthinkable because I will not support him - MAYBE I would if he picked Mitt as a VP but even then….

  4. Carol, Thanks for the moral support anyway! I’ll tell you, it’s more fun to GO to a garage sale than to HAVE one. But it really did take my mind off the presidential race for a while. I cannot believe John McCain will be the Republican nominee. If someone had told me that six months ago I would have bet the house they were wrong.

Scott, I missed the speech, I’m in catch-up mode right now and it’s slow going. I guess the best thing for me to do is keep thinking “President Clinton”, over and over again. Maybe that will motivate me.
