Bhutto dead

Benazir Bhutto was probably going to be Pakistan’s next Prime Minister until she was gunned down today. She had recently been in exile because of corruption charges which were supported by a Swiss investigation. She had already been removed as Prime Minister two times due to corruption charges.

She did not seem like an ideal candidate to me, but she did speak out for democracy and against terrorism. She had to at least be better than what they have now. Some may call her foolish, but I believe she was extremely brave for not cowering to her enemies. She may have been a good ally for the United States, but now we will never know.

It is time for President Musharraf to step up and end the terrorist threat once and for all. I hope it’s a wakeup call for him that he cannot allow Al Qaeda safe haven in his country any longer. History will judge him by his inaction. His appeasement in no way guarantees his safety. As far as I’m concerned, it’s time we took matters into our own hands if he is unwilling to deal with this threat.

  1. It’s a shame that such an incident would’ve occurred. It now seems to be for the better that Bhutto had been out of the country all this while. She’d been so caring for her countrymen, all her life, and this is what she gets in return.

Just posted a video on her life and a few words too on my blogpage at http://my-labyrinth.blogspot.com/2007/12/benazir-bhutto-killed-by-gunmen-and.html

Hope you give it a visit.

    Thanks.
