Huckabee seems to be running on his faith rather than his record lately. Perhaps that’s because he really can’t run on his record. All his ads refer to his religious beliefs. This might work in Iowa, but I think he’s going to be a one trick pony. Most of the country is looking for more than that. In a debate he said he was the only one on stage with a theological degree which turns out to be a complete fabrication by the way. In his latest ad, the floating cross ad, Huckabee says he’s tired of all the “political” talk and just wants to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
It’s a clever ad and I believe he is sincere, but I get it. You are a religious man and you are apparently the most God fearing man in the race. You make me nervous that you don’t refute all the charges from the other candidates that you are soft on crime, immigration, taxes, and terrorism. All you say is that other campaigns are getting desperate. That’s really not going to cut it.
