THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Yankees Lose!

Well, the titanic playoff matchup of Red Sox/Yankees will not happen this year. In 2004, I really wanted to beat the Yankees to get to the World Series since we needed to break the curse completely. This year, not facing the Yankees is just fine with me.

So it looks like the end of the road for Joe Torre. Let’s call it the curse of A-Rod, Miss October, who still has not played in a World Series. I used to think Joe Torre was a great manager and a good guy, but now I tend to agree with Steinbrenner. If you can’t win the World Series in 7 years with that talent and that payroll, maybe you’re not that good after all. It was an impressive turn-around, but I guess they peaked just a little early. I think this vaults Red Sox skipper Terry Francona into the game’s premier manager. Anyone who can manage Manny Ramirez is a genius. Personally I think Yankee GM Brian Cashman should have been fired a few years ago for providing Torre with these overpaid, overhyped, prima donas who have lost the eye of the tiger.

Bring on the Tribe! Go Sox!
