Two thirteen year old boys were charged with felony and misdeameanor sex abuse charges for spanking, dry humping, and groping the breasts of female classmates. Those charges were dropped in exchange for an apology, $250 payment to each girl, and “sensitivity training”. There was some public outrage over the criminal charges which would have required the boys to go to prison and register as sex offenders. Whereas I do believe that is too extreme, there just seems to be something wrong with the punishment they received. Essentially the girls got paid to get felt up. And because they were paid, apparently that makes everything ok now. Is this the correct lesson to be teaching these children?? I’d like to check back with these kids in 10 years and see where they are.
