What to say?

There were so many things I wanted to talk about this week but instead I spent all my time trying to figure out why my trackbacks weren’t working and ultimately moving to a new host. Time to catch up.

The Celtics finally became interesting again now with Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett. My proposal is that Danny Ainge gives away their first round picks for the next 20 years to get Greg Oden and Kevin Durant to round out the starting five. They will probably win the championship for 10 years straight and then the next 10 years, I won’t care.

I’m surprised it took this long but we are finally learning that the money we save by outsourcing our manufacturing to China comes with a high price. I had to throw out some Fisher Price Dora the Explorer toys that may have lead paint. Much of the food coming from China is tainted. mad_cow at Degree of Madness has a post about Alabama’s Department of Agriculture and Industries finding a banned antibiotic in fish from China that the FDA missed.

Disney last weekend was fantastic. It was just me and the boy. I highly recommend the Hulk roller coaster at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Football season has started. The boy gets to wear pads and hit for the first time on Monday. So far it seems like the football camps are paying off.

Barack Obama is self-destructing as I predicted. He is just WAY too inexperienced and I just knew he was going to say something really dumb sooner or later. I thought it would be during the debates during the primaries. So he wants to get cozy with our enemies, will invade Pakistan, and refuses to use nukes. At least we know what to expect. Sadly this makes Hillary seem moderate and even Presidential by comparison. She is just sitting back and watching him self destruct. It’s hysterical how she keeps giving foreign policy advice after each mistake as if he were a child.

Congress is a huge embarrassment. As I said during the election last year, if you vote for them, you deserve what you get, America.

The Yankees have been on a home run tear lately. Everybody except A-Rod. I can understand why Barry Bonds* is having trouble hitting one to tie Hank Aaron. No one wants to be the answer to a trivia question so they’re not throwing any pitches even close to the plate. But A-Rod’s 500th homerun pretty much is meaningless in comparison. He’s not getting pitched around. The fact is that he can’t take the pressure. Call A-Rod Mr. April. Pansy.

So that’s what’s been on my mind this week.
