I’ve switched hosts

I left ReadyHosting who I had been with for years and I’m now at Blue Host. I left ReadyHosting because every time I asked them for help, they would duck and dodge the issue. The latest problem I had was with Word Press trying to send outgoing http requests such as sending trackbacks or getting an API key for Akismet Spam Plugin. I could send trackbacks to myself but to no one else. This says to me, this is an environment problem with their server and not Word Press. Their response? “Word Press is a 3rd party application that we don’t support. You need to contact Word Press.” Trying to use logic with any customer service these days is pointless. They are like mindless robots reading cue cards. It is sad that I actually had to leave them to prove that I was right. I don’t know about you but I refuse to give up until I solve my problem. It bothers me if I can’t.

Now I have to learn PHP instead of ASP but I’ll get over it. At least I am willing to accept a challenge. I also now can use “Pretty Permalinks” which pretty much means all past links to my site are now broken. Sorry about that everyone! I’ll have to build up my Google Ranking again.

Now I just have to get my old Theme working again and my blogroll rebuilt.

  1. Scott,

I’ve been using host gator for quite a while now!  Never had any problems with the server being down or anything like that.  Also, I’ve called a couple of times for help and they resolved the questions I had immediately!  Wishing you and your family Happy Holidays and a Great 2010!  God Bless…….Charrosh
