Ok I’m back with some Food For Thought

I took a week off from blogging. Sometimes you just need a break. Plus there didn’t seem to be anything really worth writing about last week. However this week, some things do intrigue me. No links because it’s easy to find these stories everywhere.

The United States is lifting economic and diplomatic sanctions against Palestine now that President Mahmoud Abbas has eliminated Hamas from its government. So now that Arafat’s terrorist Fatah party is solely in control of the government, apparently we think this is a good thing? On a side note, Arafat’s Nobel Peace Prize was stolen by Hamas terrorists. Oh what a travesty.

19 students are charged with felonies that will follow them the rest of their lives for a harmless prank. Whatever happened to detention?

Virginia schools have outlawed all touching to protect “personal space”. This includes handshakes, hugging, and high fives. That’s progress for you.

Salman Rushdie is to be knighted by the Queen of England. Nice move! In your face, Iran!

The U.N. Secretary General blames the genocide in Darfur on global warming. Global warming is very versatile these days.

Lieutenant General Raymond Odierno indicates that 40% of Baghdad is under full control by Iraqi and American forces. What?? I just can’t believe after all this time, we don’t have more control over one city. Are we not even trying? Let’s hope the surge has just started to work, but even prior to the surge we should have better control over things. I refuse to believe that we could not win this war if we really wanted to.
