President Palmer is brought out of his coma to prevent VP Daniels from firing a nuclear missile at a nameless Middle Eastern Arab state. He takes a shot of adrenaline to not appear weak during a Constitutional battle with the VP over who is calling the shots. Even though VP Daniels is cast as a villain, he gives a very compelling argument. If our country takes two nuclear attacks without any response, our enemies will realize our weakness and the attacks will escalate. President Palmer received another shot of adrenaline after winning the battle for control of the country. Either he saw the wisdom of Daniels’ argument or the adrenaline was also loaded with testosterone because the President finally got a pair and launched the attack.
Why is it that I feel a little unsettled about our own future after watching these shows? Oh yes, it’s because it reminds me of how our leaders are spineless eunuchs who are more worried about polls and elections than the danger we are in.
