American Idol Recap - Top 11

  • Haley Scarnato
  • Wow. Great legs. Did she sing tonight? Oh yes, her best so far.

  • Chris Richardson
  • Good performance for him. Sings through his nose a bit.

  • Stephanie Edwards
  • She looked like was really holding back. Way too serious. I was a little disappointed tonight.

  • Blake Lewis
  • Fantastic performer. Very unique. Better voice then he gets credit for. He has a great talent for arranging songs. I think he should be top 3.

  • Lakisha Jones
  • Maybe not her best performance, but even on her worst night she’s still really, really good. Great natural talent. She was being measured against her past performances, not against anyone else. Could win it all, definitely top 3.

  • Phil Stacey
  • Good song. Started off strong. Ended Strong. Just ok in the middle. He is lacking in charisma and he won’t be improving that too much in the next few weeks. He does much better when I’m not looking at the tv.

  • Jordin Sparks
  • She’s probably the most underrated contestant. She’s really cute and I really like her voice. She is a little too gooey, happy sometimes, but that’s probably just her age. She acts five years older when she’s singing though. Great job tonight.

  • Sanjaya Malakar
  • Terrible. I don’t how he’s gotten here. The creepy factor is still there. He sings worse and worse each week. If you want to torture me, vote for him. Too many 8 year old girls have access to a phone.

  • Gina Glocksen
  • You can’t help rooting for her. She probably tries harder and wants it more than anyone else. She looks like she would be fun to hang out with. She gave a typical Gina performance. If she could just loosen up a little bit more, her voice would match her personality.

  • Chris Sligh
  • Aren’t you always surprised at the voice that comes out of this guy? Not his best performance this week. I’d like to see him around a few more weeks. I’ve forgiven him for insulting Sweet Home Alabama.

  • Melinda Doolittle
  • She has a great name. She doesn’t really need any personality with a voice like that. In my opinion, she’s the best singer in the competition with Lakisha a close second. I didn’t love the song, but she sure did sing it well. She sounds very professional already. She’s one of my top 3 choices, and based on voice talent only, she should win.

  1. I’d have to say as a person who watched the show tonight as a 46 year-old guy with no “dog in this fight”, Melinda Doolittle is the easy pick. The command she has over the songs I’ve seen her perform sets her apart. She is a talent that I’ve not seen on this show before. She is a mix between Gladys and Aretha. Her polish “shines”. Good Luck Melinda, you really don’t need it!
