My first week of Nutrisystems

I started using Nutrisystems for Men one week ago. If it’s good enough for Dan Marino, it’s good enough for me. After one day, I was starving! I added up all the calories for the 3 meals, the snack, and the dessert and it added up to about 770 per day. I called Nutrisystems and said this can’t be right. They of course told me I should have read the welcome packet which states I’m supposed to add my own dairy, salad, and fruit to the diet to get up to 1500 calories. They should know if they market to guys, we’re not going to read the directions. The commercial makes no mention of needing to add your own food. In fact they only give you half the calories you need for the day. Suddenly the price of $10/day doesn’t seem as good a deal. So I went to the store and bought some South Beach frozen foods to add a 4th meal since they both work off the glycemic index. I’m still staying under the 1500 calorie limit. I was a big weight lifter pre-marriage, pre-kids, and pre-injuries so I still carry a bit of muscle. I’m still debating whether 1500 is enough calories for me, but I’ll stick with it for now.

So far I’ve gone from 219 lbs to 215 lbs in 7 days. So far so good except I think about eating constantly because I’m never full. I watch the clock to see when I can eat again. The plus side is that the food is pretty good. Just avoid the powdered scrambled eggs and the tuna casserole. I have the South Beach breakfast burrito instead of the eggs.
