Chris Sligh is doomed

Chris Sligh is the guy on American Idol who has big black curly hair, glasses, is overweight, is off-beat and sometimes quite a comedian when he’s not being obnoxious. But last night he completely blew it. He stated that at the audition in Alabama, he despised having to sing “Sweet Home Alabama” 37 times with the crowd gathered there. Doesn’t he realize that Alabama has the most voting influence in the entire country? We’ve gotten Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice, Reuben Studdard, and Diana DeGarmo into the finals. It might be that more people down here have Cingular wireless than any other part of the country. Then he had the nerve to insult Simon’s accomplishments of Il Divo and Teletubbies.

Keep your bags packed, funny boy.

  1. I don’t know if you remember, but last year after Taylor Hicks won there was conspiracy theorist blogging that because Cingular was the predominant carrier in the southeast and most text messaging customers were in the south east that is why the south had more winners than any other area???

  2. I realize that you’re from the “South”, and that’s awesome! Despite Chris’ comments, would you still rule out voting him in, if he was by BEST PERFORMANCE and TALENT the #1 choice?

Despite his exhaustion of resigning a song too many times, I’d encourage you to still consider his PERFORMANCES and TALENT!

  3. Well he does have one of the better voices in the competition and the last few weeks, he seems to have eaten some humble pie. Not too many humorous comments from him lately. I’ll keep an open mind. Everyone should have a chance to redeem himself.
