The sky is falling!

I liked my comment I left over at Sad Bastards so much, I decided to repeat it here. He talked about American Idol rejects, the low IQ of Dems, and global warming.

I think the American Idol producers are going overboard on finding wackos to audition. There must be more than 17 people in Minnesota that can sing well. Thousands of people turn out for the auditions and I’m willing to bet that many really good singers never get past the screeners so they can humiliate these delusional misfits. I’d like to see more talent with just a few knuckleheads thrown in for laughs.

Last night on O’Reilly, Dennis Miller was talking about the crazy letters he gets from liberals who hate him. He said that at least when a Republican writes a death threat, it’s spelled correctly!

The global warming hypothesis may have merit. Pollution may indeed have an effect on the environment. But the point is that there is no convincing proof. An iceberg breaking free in the artic is hardly proof of anything. There are reports that the world’s temperature has gone up half a degree in 1000 years. First of all I want to know how they know what the temperature was 1000 years ago?

According to Wikipedia,
“The temperature record of the past 1000 years describes the reconstruction of temperature for the last 1000 years on the Northern Hemisphere. A reconstruction is needed because a reliable surface temperature record exists only since about 1850.”

According to a chart on that site created by these scientist who claim to be able to calculate the historical temperatures, the temperature has really spike in the latter part of this century. It looks like it has gone up about .2 degrees in the last 50 years. The most interesting part of the graph is around 1600 - 1700 AD. It is called the little Ice Age. The temperature during that time dropped .5 - 1.0 degrees. I’m pretty sure that this was not caused by man unless George Bush took his secret weather controlling machine back in time with his secret time machine. I need clear and convincing evidence and .5 degrees over 1000 years doesn’t do it. Alaska had a record snowfall this year. What does that prove? Nothing. For every global warming example, Al Gore provides, we can show an opposite and equally absurd example that proves nothing.

You want to know what fuels the global warming scare tactics? Money. Global Warming research is an huge industry funded mostly by government grants. Bubba on the Rick and Bubba radio show this morning said we should take all the money we give to the U.N. and spend it on global warming research instead because either way, it’s getting flushed down the toilet. I wonder which institution liberals would rather waste their money on?

Heidi Cullen of The Weather Channel is advocating that the American Meteorological Society (AMS) revoke their “Seal of Approval” for any television weatherman who expresses skepticism that human activity is creating a climate catastrophe. She sounds like some sort of dictator. Typical liberal stance though that tolerance and free speech only applies to the ideas they support.
