Nancy Pelosi showed how much influence she will wield as Speaker of the House. She publicly lobbied for John Murtha for Majority Leader last week and her choice was soundly defeated by Steny Hoyer. She has not had a good working relationship with Hoyer and her fellow Democrats just didn’t care about that. It shows me that Nancy Pelosi is not only out of touch with America but she is not even in touch with her own party. She probably should have asked around first before going out on a limb like that. It also shows that the Democrats are eager to hold on to their new found power by not choosing such a polarizing figure as John Murtha. I hope this means that the radical leftists will have a tough time pushing their agenda.
“I didn’t have enough votes and so I’ll go back to my small subcommittee I have on Appropriations,” Murtha said after the vote.
Awww poor little Jackie. I think he’s going to take his ball and go home.
