BOYCOTT CITGO

No one comes to my country, insults me and my President, and leaves unscathed. I don’t care what your political affiliation is. If you have one shred of patriotism left, you will never buy Citgo gasoline again. How can we boycott Exxon ruthlessly after an oil spill, but not boycott a stark raving lunatic who desires the destruction of our government and our way of life? I can’t believe we can take down the mighty Soviet Union by destroying their economy and yet we let a little cockroach like Chavez run wild and embolden our enemies on our own soil. Our economy is a very powerful weapon and when used properly, it cannot be withstood by any nation. If we are not willing to send him a message like Reagan sent Qaddafi, then hit this dictator where it hurts him most, the wallet.

  1. Scott, Great post. We were on to Hugo a while ago. Thanks to you and now Michael Savage’s radio show, the Boycott Citgo campaign has caught fire. See http://sadbastards.wordpress.com

I wonder if Hugo feels the heat and the smell of sulfur now?

  2. Although there have been “Boycott CITGO” petitions floating around since last January, the boycott movement has really been picking up steam over the past couple of days thanks to, not only Hugo Chavez’s big mouth, but Michael Savage’s radio show and the groundswell of outrage generated by emails and internet petitions.

While Bill O’Reilly has been telling his viewers that CITGO is owned by the Venezuelan state run oil company, Michael Savage has been a little more on top of this story than O’Reilly has been, as Mr. O’Reilly hasn’t yet called for a boycott of CITGO.

O’Reilly believes that a boycott will hurt the American employees and distributors of CITGO.

I say the HELL with that misguided logic!

Why has O’Reilly called for a boycott of France while not calling for a boycott of a company that is putting millions of dollars in Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez’s pocket?

Chavez, who is a sworn enemy of the United States, has also allied himself with the leaders of such terrorist nations as Iran, North Korea, and Cuba!

    I SAY BOYCOTT CITGO NOW!!!

Update: Governor, legislators call for Citgo boycott

Thanks in large part to citizens like you, momentum is building for a boycott of Citgo as outraged citizens take action against the Hugo Chavez-owned company.

Florida legislators are considering canceling a contract with Citgo while Boston leaders want the giant “Citgo” sign outside Fenway Park removed. Also, New York Governor George Pataki announced his personal boycott of Citgo and reports are starting to come in from business leaders pledging to boycott Citgo.

I am so glad to hear that you have personally joined the Citgo boycott. Like you, I don’t want my money in any way benefiting a totalitarian thug who called our President “the devil” and made a mockery of the sign of the cross!

We still need about 15,000 petitions to reach our goal of 50,000 for immediate delivery to 7-Eleven, a leading distributor of Citgo.

Please forward this message to your friends with a note from you explaining your support for the Citgo boycott.

Also, we have posted the Chavez video at that site. Thanks for your help!

  4. We all need to work together to make Chavez suffer the consequences of
his speech. No one should be able to walk onto American soil and
    insult our Commander in Chief.

Please visit my website to read more about the Citgo boycott and
another organization who is coordinating efforts as well. Click here for more details.

  6. This is right on.  Venezuela, run by anti-U.S. president Hugo Chavez, is the majority owner of Citgo. Chavez has repeatedly called for Opec to lower oil production and hike oil prices. President-elect Barack Obama says he wants to have dialogue with Chavez. The U.S. is Chavez #1 source of oil revenue, via Citgo.

It’s time for the U.S. to consider alternative sources of fuel, like ethanol from sugar cane. That has been proven viable in Brazil. U.S. farmers should sell their corn as food, not as fuel. If we convert to sugar cane ethanol or other sources, U.S. farmers could corner the market once again in food production.

In the meantime, yes, boycott Citgo.
