Who knew what a prophet George W. Bush would be? When he identified the Axis of Evil as Iraq, Iran, and North Korea during the State of the Union many years ago, he was not exaggerating at all. We all thought Bush was channeling Reagan mimicking his Evil Empire reference to the Soviet Union. It is amazing how accurate he was. These three countries have had the rest of the world at each other’s throats. Iraq was able to corrupt France, Russia, and Germany in the oil-for-food scandal delaying the downfall of Saddam and creating division among allies. North Korea developed a nuclear weapon and seems intent on developing a missile to deliver it to us while pitting Russia and China against us. And now Iran has finally stepped into the spotlight as the apparent terrorist headquarters of the world. They have initiated a war in Lebanon with Hezbollah and Israel basically to prove to the world that they can cause a ton of trouble if messed with. They are the main supplier of terrorist funds, weapons, and fighters in the world. Reuters is reporting that Iran sent officials to observe the failed missile launch in North Korea recently.
Who thinks these countries are just misunderstood and that we can negotiate with them? What is the cost of doing nothing? Does a cease fire solve anything or just give evil a chance to stockpile more dangerous weapons?
