Thanks for visiting and sharing your opinion. You are right that there can be no peace without compromise. Hezbollah has never shown a capacity or willingness to compromise whereas Israel has made concession after concession with nothing to show for it. The extent of a Hezbollah compromise consists of empty promises to cease attacks. That really means stop killing us so we will have a chance to regroup and find better weapons. There is only one solution, the elimination of Hezbollah and groups like them.

Scott,

it's been a bad 24 hours for Israel. Killing four UN personnel in a clearly marked camp is one thing. Sending missiles into two clearly marked ambulances in Lebanon is also dumb and does nothing to promote Israel's position as a victim, but makes it look more like the aggressor (http://www.theage.com.au/news/world/we-have-an-accident/2006/07/25/1153816182440.html)

This follows the US shipping $30 million in aid to Lebanon just 48 hours after rushing a shipment of precision guided munitions to Israel as part of a $1 billion arms contract - there's hypocracy for you.

All these incidents clearly undermine the willingness of the global community to commit to a UN peace-making force, and undermine the trust for the US as a dealmaker - Condi Rice now just looks plain ridiculous talking peace while sending arms to continue the campaign.

If there's to be peace - both sides have to demonstrate a willingness to compromise - neitehr side seems willing at the moment.
