For the most part, the immigration rallies have been peacefully attended. The rest of the world (yoohoo France) should take notice. Peaceful demonstrations are far more compelling than violence. Violence would completely undermine the pro-immigration movement and isolate the already marginalized community. Instead I believe they have garnered some respect and sympathy, Che Cultists notwithstanding. I couldn’t be prouder of our country’s dignified approach to democracy.
