Hating Bush is a sport, not a strategy

I saw Susan Estrich’s Article on Fox News and I was not prepared for what I read. She actually made sense and I agreed with some points. She seemed to be channeling Dick Morris. She sternly warned against riding a wave of hate into the next election. I agree with her, but I’m confident and somewhat grateful her warnings will not be heeded. Democrats and liberals criticize constantly without providing any alternatives or solutions. Americans are more impressed with conviction and action. Yes, you hate George Bush, but what would you do differently? Sure you think the war in Iraq is a disaster but how would you solve it? We know you don’t like the military, but how would you protect our country? I ask these sorts of questions all the time and the answer is either “pie-in-the-sky” euphemisms which cannot be implemented or just more Bush-bashing which must have some implied answer that I’m not smart enough to figure out. Liberals do tend to believe they are more enlightened than most. Somehow getting Bush and Republicans out of office will solve everything I guess. Even Estrich is bewildered how anyone can consider the President to be dumb.

Sorry, but I’m going to vote for tangible ideas, rational thinkers, and those who want to unite and improve this country, not people who just want to divide the country into us against them. Even though Republicans don’t fight enough to defend their ideas, at least they have some. And honestly, ideas with no substantive opposition do not need much of a defense.

On second thought, keep up the good work liberal Democrats, you’re doing just fine…
