Well, Bucky Covington finally drew the short straw last night. He seems like a nice guy, but I honestly couldn’t figure out who was voting for him all these weeks.
Once we get rid of Ace, then it’s anyone’s game. The remaining singers are all really good. I’m going to rank my favorites.
Chris Daughtry - Not really versatile but man can he sing his genre. He looks and sounds like a pro already.
Katharine McPhee - If this were a true talent contest, she should win. She has the total package, superb singer, versatile, beautiful, and likeable.
Taylor Hicks - Birmingham Hometown Hero Taylor Hicks is offbeat, talented, funny, and the most entertaining person in the competition. He has the X-Factor they are looking for. He has such a unique style, sound, personality, and look that he just stands out.
Elliot Yamin - This guy is hands down the best singer in the competition. I just keep wishing his personality would come out a little bit. We need to see some star quality. I would certainly not be disappointed if he won the whole thing.
Kellie Pickler - She is really starting to grow on me. Sure she’s a bit dingy, but each week I’m more suprised with how well she sings and how good looking she is. She looks fantastic in the taped segments and should lay off the makeup on stage.
Paris Bennett - Ok, she can sing. Really well too. But something about her really bothers me. I know the way her head swings from side-to-side when she’s singing “with attitude” is really annoying. She seemed to tone that down this week. I think she is way too manufactured to be likeable. Do those tears seem a little contrived? I won’t be sad to see her go. I really would not be interested in buying her music if she wins.
Ace Young - Wow. Talk about contrived tears. Like a waiter in L.A. who never made it. This guy is so boring I can’t wait for his songs to end. He needs a personality transplant. His looks can only get him so far. “We Will Rock You” was so embarrassing. He just cannot pull off tough-guy rocker. He should probably sing Shawn or David Cassidy songs. I can say one good thing about him, good falsetto.
