6 out of 800 Generals surveyed say…

There are over 800 active or retired Generals in the military today. Six of them have decided to call for Rumsfeld’s resignation according to FOX News. Gee, I wonder why this is newsworthy? If you ran a company with 800 employees, I’m sure 6 would hate you no matter what you did, especially if they had egos the size of a General. The only reason the number is this low is because most military officers usually have respect for their superiors and do not usually try to undermine the efforts of the military during war time. Did people really expect the transition from a dictator to democracy to go smoothly? I didn’t realize Generals played Monday morning quarterback. I’m sure if we sent more troops, say 1 million, there would be less violence but there would still be violence. But even still, how do you keep your commitments to the U.S. and the rest of the world if you have too many troops in one place? Instead of complaining about too few troops, they would be complaining about how there are too many and that we cannot provide adequate troop rotation. Or there is too much hardship on the families. Or Bush and Rumsfield are wasting our money and blowing up the deficit. You get the point.

Bush needs to get off his rear and get the PR machine going again. Our fast food mentality and constant shrieking from Bush-bashers has warped our sense of perspective.
