On February 24, I said I was willing to keep an open mind on the Dubai Ports deal while it was being reviewed in the 45 day cooling off period. I have not heard a peep from the White House or Dubai Ports World defending the sale. Last night the House Appropriations Committee overwhelmingly voted in favor of blocking the sale. I think Bush is in big trouble on this one. I hope he’s not counting on his veto since I don’t think it will hold up. He should be making a full court press if he really believes in this.
