Note to self - Do not go hunting with VP Cheney

When I heard the news initially that Vice President Cheney had accidently shot his friend, Harry Whittington, and heard that was knocked silly but would be ok, I was relieved and my next thought was Jay Leno is going to have a field day with this. I thought it was worthy of a lead story in the evening news and nothing more. I did not expect the press to create a conspiracy theory out of it.

“Why did it take 22 hours to report the shooting?” That’s all I heard on the radio today. I wonder what the acceptable time frame would be? 1 hour? 4 hours? My feeling is that if the Vice President had reported it too quickly for the media’s liking, there would have been other accusations hurled about him not being concerned for his dear old friend and trying to gloss over a serious matter.

I took a trip to Atlanta today and I was searching for some good conservative talk radio and stumbled across Air America with Randi Rhodes. This was the first time I had tuned in but decided I should find out what the liberal subversives are talking about. She was all over the place and kept repeating certain talking points. I tried to follow the conspiracy theory although she was really trying to lead people there without actually saying it. Please don’t blame me for what this whacko Rhodes said. I heard these comments hours ago and I cannot quote exactly but I believe this was the gist of it:

Vice President Cheney made up his mind prior to getting elected that he needed to go to war with Iraq and Iran. For some reason Valerie Plame was about to confirm as a CIA NOC that Iran was working with Russia to pursue a nuclear power program solely for peaceful means. This would have screwed up the war plans so he had Scooter Libby leak her identity to the press to end her covert operations. Now Scooter Libby, who seems to be some hero of Randi Rhodes now, is according to her, “singing like a quail” which was a reference to the bird Cheney was hunting for. She then rambled on about the poor defenseless birds that were bred to be hunted and were too docile to flee for their lives. In order to shut up Libby, Cheney “accidently” shot his friend Whittington to send him a message. She also intimated that the murders of Ron Brown and Paul Wellstone were eerily similar and convenient. She also said that the wives of the recently deceased miners in West Virginia had written letters to complain about the saftey conditions and the only Senator to respond to their concerns was Paul Wellstone. Maybe she was implying that he was killed for trying to undermine the profits of the coal industry which must somehow be linked to Bush/Cheney. She then finished with a comment that President Bush is always the last to know everything because it takes him so long to absorb the information

Now these sound like the rantings of a madman. I said madMAN because I know it would probably irritate her that I’m not being politically correct by not saying madperson . She was all over the place indirectly making wild accusations. I am comforted by the fact that the liberal left still cannot relate to mainstream America. Most people do not hate as strongly as they do and are turned off by the polarizing defeatism.
