The Internal Revenue Service informed the NAACP in October, 2004 that it was undertaking an investigation into its tax-exempt status, focusing on a speech given by Julian Bond at its 2004 Convention in which he criticized President George W. Bush. The NAACP has denounced the investigation as political retaliation for its get-out-the-vote activities and has refused to supply the information concerning its activities that the IRS has demanded.
It looks like Julian Bond is at it again comparing the GOP to German Nazis.

Civil rights activist and NAACP Chairman Julian Bond delivered a blistering partisan speech at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina last night, equating the Republican Party with the Nazi Party and characterizing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her predecessor, Colin Powell, as “tokens.”
“The Republican Party would have the American flag and the swastika flying side by side,” he charged.
This inflamatory rhetoric is ridiculous. I can’t believe there is even an audience for such nonsense. The black leaders of America should condemn this without hesitation yet I bet it will largely go ignored. Sorry Trent Lott. It’s a two faced, hypocritical society we live in.
